Job Description (main duties and responsibilities)

The Project Management Office (PMO) within Bell Business Markets’ Delivery team provides a national Project Management Practice based on PMI methodology and an ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System. The PMO provides Project Management (PM) tools and methodology based on industry best practices with a governance program including continuous improvement. This translates into consistent project delivery by our highly dedicated, trained and experienced resources. The PMO is comprised of 6 major pillars: Resource Management & Staffing Office, Methodology and Quality, Project Performance and Governance, Governance Operations, Contract Management and PMO Financials. We are currently seeking a Sr. Consultant to work within our PMO Financial team to be accountable for the overall project financials for an Enterprise Customer.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

* Supporting the PM community in project financial management, including tracking of monthly revenue, cogs and SG&A specific to the project
* Assisting the PM with the set up of the initial project baseline financials (in PSR)
* Overseeing the month rolling forecasts
* Early identification of risks and opportunities and any associated mitigation plans
* Comparison of actual to budget
* Monitoring time reporting, hours charged to the projects, any change requests
* Track results and provide data analysis, trends, gaps, areas for improvement, and other ad hoc analysis as required
* Work with finance on revenue recognition rules and understanding of accruals/deferrals
* Understanding on contractual obligations, milestones and any financial penalty exposure
* Work with PMs, Practice Leaders and Resource Management teams to establish a project monthly forecast on effort (FTE and Contractors)
* Work with PMs and Finance on Capital Management for the project

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

* Strong financial acumen
* Financial background (capital, expense, revenue) and monthly reporting
* Solid analytical skills (keen eye for detail)
* Excellent ability to communicate efficiently at all levels within all business units
* Solid organizational and planning skills, and strong ability to be proactive and work as part of a team
* Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
* Ability to take initiative and demonstrate vision
* Forward-thinking: excellent ability to resolve problems swiftly, professionally and positively
* Flexible: ability to work in a team environment and/or independently with minimal supervision
* Dynamic, enthusiastic and self-confident
* Ability to understand impacts; results oriented
* Advanced experience in Microsoft Office tools
* Experience in project management or related field an asset
* Knowledge of SAP, BI and RMT tools
* Knowledge of PSR an asset

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:

* College Diploma / University degree – preferred
* Currently pursing or completed Accounting Designation – preferred
* Knowledge of Bell and PS Practices an asset
* Knowledge and/or understanding of Bell products/services
* Knowledge of the ISO 9001: 2000 standard and internal auditor certification are considered assets
* Bilingual for Ottawa position
