Position Description:
Bell is looking for an experienced and motivated individual who will lead the delivery of large customer projects for the wireless practice in the Ottawa market.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will be accountable for the following:
* Performing architectural planning and design along with configuration and integration support
* Providing operational support for complex, wireless network deployments. Identify & document design/architecture best practices for adoption
* Providing leadership and direction on projects for maximum customer/business impact
* Demonstrating and conveying a strong understanding of all current technologies and good understanding of emerging technologies, especially Wireless LAN and Wireless Mesh technologies
* Participating in or leading complex network design, performance engineering or problem resolution projects
* Solving complex, cross-functional issues that cross many technologies
* Applying good analytic process to any issue to help come to resolution
* Researching, understanding, recommending and applying technology to reach desired goal
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
* Five + years experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise WLAN networks based on Aruba and / or Cisco wireless technology
* In depth knowledge of 802.11 Wireless technology Superior RF Design, RF Survey/Engineering and RF troubleshooting skills
* Advanced understanding of wireless architecture and design issues in a complex enterprise network
* Thorough understanding of WLAN security and network management Demonstrated experience designing and deploying key WLAN applications including Secure Mobility, Voice over WLAN, Location Based Services, and Wireless Guest Access
* IP networking, LAN Switching
* In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability, QOS & capacity planning
* Expert level Inter-networking troubleshooting in a large scale wireless network environment
* Proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and on budget
* Knowledge of Project Management methodologies
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Leadership and mentoring skills
* An engineering or computer science degree or equivalent plus 5-10 years experience in a network engineering or telecommunications support environment
* Aruba – ACMA, ACMP certifications (Desirable)
* Cisco - CCIE-Wireless, CCNA-Wireless certifications (Desirable)
* CWNA, CWSP, CWAP, CWNE certifications (Desirable)
* Hold or can obtain Secret Government of Canada security clearance
* Bilingualism (French / English) is an asset
