The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.
The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.
The Bell Canada Information Technology Delivery Blueprints Program is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the Blueprint Program team for the Mobility and BRS Business. The Blueprints Program manages and develops the workflow and diagnostic tools for call centre agents, Through multiple backend integrations, Blueprints automate the collection and interpretation of customer data and offers actionable recommendations and ensures a consistent and structured call flow.
The successful candidates will directly support the end to end program partnering with the Program Manager and working with a team of IT business analysts, and contractors. They will partner with other IT teams such as Planning, Architecture, Infrastructure, etc for project deployments and further development of the application, and conceptual solutions reviews. The candidate will be accountable to work with external vendors such as CGI, Amdocs and IBM. We require highly motivated individuals, who thrive in a complex, versatile environment confronted with constant change They will apply creativity and innovation in the development of solutions essential to support our customer-facing divisions, and is able to lead change through cross-functional teams or business
The Senior Java Developer is responsible for providing detailed technical designs and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.
They must have abilities such as:
* Convert specifications about business requirements into programming instructions.
* Conduct impact analysis, and analysis of organizational needs & goals, for development and implementation of application systems.
* Develop, review, analyse, and modify programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system.
Applicant Requirements:
* Expert consulting experience with IBM BPMS v8.5.5, Process Designer, Coaches View, custom UI development,
* 5+ years experience as a Senior Java UI Developer, or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of UI development using rest/soap integrations
* Deep understanding of business process management, customer/agent experience using BPMS
* Excellent understanding of design patterns
* Excellent understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns
* Knowledge of the following frameworks Spring MVC/Spring/JQuery/XML Beans or similar
* Knowledge of the following technologies - Weblogic Portal/Portlet/XML/JEE/JSP/Web Security
* Knowledge of the following languages - Java/Javascript/HTML/XML/CSS
* Must have Bachelors or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
* Extensive knowledge of and experience with a variety of specific tools and toolkits for development and support of applications.
* Knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, formal methodologies and disciplines for delivering new or enhanced applications.
* Attention to details in system analysis/design and problem resolutions.
Skills
* Strong analytical skills (ability to quickly determine the problem space and organize it into simple components through data mining, statistical analysis and quantitative analysis)
* Strong technical writing skills (ability to write clearly and concisely)
* Strong troubleshooting skills (ability to uncover trouble rapidly and provide resolution)
* Proven leadership and organization skills
* Excellent ability to articulate and document technical concepts to non-technical audience
* Autonomous, resourceful, strong tolerance to ambiguity, excellent capacity for applied learning
Working Conditions:
* Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams, handling multiple projects with geographically dispersed team members.
* Availability to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet hard deadlines and available to work occasional overnights to take part in deployment activities
* Ability to travel within Montreal, Ottawa, London and Toronto corridors with little advance notification; travel depending on project needs
