The Expertech team is responsible for provisioning Bell Canada’s network, ensuring the job is completed on time, within budget, and to the customer’s quality standards. Purpose
Responsible for all minor material in SAP and quotes for external purchases. Provides material to perform installations.
Tasks and Outputs
This position’s major tasks and key outputs are as follows:
* Input minor material orders in SAP, including changes and corrections in order to allow material attendants and splicers to purchase material from Progistix.
* May unblock Bell material invoices in SAP to ensure payment.
* May track billing, orders and backorders in the material module in SAP in order to control stock (shipping and receiving).
* May download information from SAP into Excel regarding material inventory to ensure an accurate statement of inventory.
* May quote material for marketing and outside project managers and create a purchase order for external purchases.
* May file documents (e.g. packing slips, specifications).
Performs related duties as assigned.
Problem Solving
Typically, 11-20% of the total time on the job is spent on problem-solving activities.
The following are problems that are typically encountered and solved:
* Material already exists in the system, yet the technician cannot find it occurs on a daily basis.
* Back orders or bulked orders occur on a daily basis.
* Request for quotes coming in without a part number occur on a daily basis.
* Changes are to be made on orders on a daily basis.
Recommendations
The primary recommendations or decisions made in this job may involve the following:
* Decision to escalate problems on a daily basis.
* Recommendation on internal processes on a monthly basis.
* Prioritization of work on a daily basis.
* Decision to solve backorders and orders on a daily basis.
Education/Experience
The minimum education level that is required in order to start working in this position is the Ontario Secondary School
Diploma (OSSD) in Ontario, the Quebec Secondary V Leaving Certificate in Quebec, or equivalent work experience.
Computer Skills
* This position requires accessing, analyzing and inputting with computers or word processors.
* This position requires intermediate skills in SAP, Outlook, Word and Excel. May require advanced skills in Explorer.
* May require basic skills in Access, Visio and/or PowerPoint
Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English
