Night/Presentation Producer, Full-time

CTV Vancouver

             

Location: Vancouver, BC

Salary: Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.

              

Responsibilities:             

  • Responsible for on air output of CTV British Columbia 11:30pm news
  • Supervise anchor, line-up and writing of news
  • Control room producer for newscast
  • Assigning staff and resources for the production of stories for news
  • Work with reporters to ensure appropriate coverage of news and live events
  • Generating story ideas
  • Lead daily planning of weekend news coverage.
  • Work with online department to ensure news coverage on the website is correct and current
  • Distribute breaking news as required on social media/online
  • Act as a liaison with local stations, other networks and agencies to share costs, facilities and personnel for covering the news.
  • Other duties include:  writing and editing scripts, supervising edits, critiquing news material; booking feeds
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:  

  • At least 2 years of experience in roles in news/information television programming
  • Degree or diploma in Journalism
  • Control room experience
  • In-depth knowledge of domestic and international news and current affairs
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and prioritize
  • Experience with budget management
  • Computer skills
  • Experience managing staff and working with TV talent
  • Excellent communications skills - oral and written
  • Ability to work in a team environment
