Supervisor of Broadcast Operations for Bell TV. This individual will be responsible for the supervising employees engaged in monitoring signal on multiple channel as well as sports/special services being transmitted to subscribers. Supervisor must be able to quickly troubleshoot and resolve incoming and outage signal problems by interacting with internal departments as well as outside program providers. Monitoring and control hardware and software systems used in transmission of signals. Serves as the focal point in the resolution of major broadcast issues on assigned shift.

Responsibilities will include:

* Project management, organizing and coordinating special assignments
* Manage staff of unionized employees within the guidelines of the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement)
* Manager must set annual objectives for employees under his/her supervision, review, and administer the Performance Management process. Team and individual coaching, regular employee performance feedback.
* Candidate must have proven leadership skills and have the ability to organize and supervise a team of skilled broadcast operators.
* Supervise employees engaged in monitoring and problem resolution of video and audio channels across multiple platforms that are being transmitted to company subscribers.
* Resolve issues by following established procedures to include indentifying the problem source, tracking internal/external resolution efforts, contacting program providers regarding signal anomalies and making appropriate adjustments to systems and signals to assure signal integrity.
* Monitoring, control, and update hardware and software systems in order to meet current and expanded requirements for broadcast system capabilities.
* Serve as the organizational focal point in the resolution of major broadcast problems and coordinates the preparation of reports as required.
* Train employees and participate in the development of standard operational procedures to improve organizational productivity and effectiveness
* In-depth knowledge of company broadcast operations including computer control systems, broadcast automation system, policies and procedures and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of complex technical and operational problems within a narrow window of time.
* Candidate must have in-depth knowledge of automation systems, traffic systems, insertion systems, an understanding of digital compression, digital audio and a strong understand of test and measurement devices used in broadcast troubleshooting.
* Candidate must possess well-developed interpersonal relationship skills and be able to work closely with others in a team environment.
* Oversee the planning, implementation, maintenance and ongoing operation of Master Control, notification procedures

Candidate Qualifications:

The qualified candidate will be able to observe and react quickly to any problems that may arise in both master control areas. The candidate must be able to work with others as a team, at the same time being a true team leader and be able to understand and troubleshoot quickly and accurately.

Skills and Knowledge:

* Thorough knowledge of both analog and digital broadcast technology
* Ability to work well under pressure, and be able to solve problems quickly and efficiently
* Superb communication skills
* Proficient troubleshooting ability
* Solid PC based computer skills
* Knowledge of automation and file servers is an asset
* Excellent leadership skills
* Results-oriented with a sense of urgency; exudes “can do” attitude
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced and ambiguous environment; adapters well to change
* Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail

Education and Technical Requirements:

* College diploma in Television Broadcasting
* 5-8 years experience in a broadcast environment.
* Proven leader with experience managing and mentoring technical staff
* Demonstrated ability to provide varying levels of services to a highly diverse client base
* Track record of successfully handling media inquires and managing issues in a timely fashion
