Network Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- The role is primarily day-to-day operations with opportunities to be pulled into project work as the required skill set is demonstrated.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose network errors or failures; maintain and configure Cisco, Juniper, Arista and Fortinet networking hardware and perform upgrades to network equipment as necessary.
- Monitor system and network elements using diagnostic tools and troubleshooting procedures; perform diagnostics of network hardware and software components.
- Be available after hours for support requests on a rotation basis or for escalation from other team members to address urgent support requests.
- Maintain documentation of routine maintenance, systems configuration, applications, and technical reference material, and perform general systems administration and security functions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years Networking experience or related field
- Post-secondary education in computer sciences or networking would be an asset
- French Language is an asset
- Experience working on Astral’s and RDS network is highly desirable
- Experience in Network Security would be an asset
- Cisco switching and routing required with experience with BGP and OSPF
- Cisco Certified Network Professional certification would be an asset
- Experience in Cisco (IOS) wireless, VoIP, Routing and Switching required
- Experience in Juniper routing (JUNOS) on MX platforms required
- Experience in MPLS and IP Multicast would be an asset
- Experience in Network Security would be an asset
- Experience in Arista switching would be an asset
- Experience in Fortinet and Cisco security products an asset
- Experience in Fluke diagnostics equipment would be an asset
- Load Balancers (F5, Citrix, A10)
- Experience with various hosting ISP’s
- Hosting infrastructure setup and support
- Strong communication, technical writing and documentation skills
- Facilitates effective team interaction
- Broadcast Industry experience also an asset
