Position: News Director
Reference Number: News Saskatoon - 15
Location: CTV Saskatoon
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.
Responsibilities: 
• Responsible for the development and broadcasting of daily newscasts
• Provide direction and guidance to assignment, reporting and editorial staff
• Scheduling of staff, employee relations and other administrative functions
• Manage News department budget effectively; create & implement strategies to continue our ratings growth in all News programs
• Work closely with other members of Station Management Team to create new opportunities for advertisers.
• Develop effective community relations and represent CTV at sponsored and community events.

Qualifications:
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Broadcast Journalism.  Minimum three years’ experience in a senior News position.
• Practical knowledge of television operations and a strong editorial background including knowledge of editorial law
• Innovative thinker capable of establishing a vision; effectively leading and inspiring a News team to achieve Station goals
• Strong team leader with effective people and motivational skills.  Demonstrated record of success in major market television news
• Proficient working knowledge of iNews and Microsoft Office.
