Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, this position works within a new, dynamic team that is responsible for all internal and external corporate communications for Bell Media, as well as the communication efforts and strategy for Bell Media Digital Projects, Bell Media Sales, and Bell Media Ventes. The incumbent will work closely with the Corporate Communications Officer to support these initiatives and oversee a team intern. They will also be the day-to-day contact for Bell Media’s media monitoring service.
Qualifications:
• Minimum two years’ experience in the public relations/communications industry (corporate communications experience preferred)
• Post-secondary education (journalism or PR degree preferred)
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Highly detailed and deadline oriented
• Significant interest in news and current affairs
• Knowledge of the Canadian media landscape
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Functions well in a fast-paced environment
• Possess excellent time-management skills
• French language, both written and oral, are an asset
Job specifications:
Internal Communications (70%)
• Draft strategic, user-friendly notes to staff and other employee communications
• Develop compelling content for company intranet including but not limited to: news articles, staffing updates, programming highlights
• Draft employee communications surrounding new staffing announcements
• Support Bell Media HR, Finance, IT and other divisions to communicate timely information with employees
• Draft employee communications to support Bell initiatives within Bell Media
• Support change management
• Oversee internal media monitoring reports and external services
• Providing media monitoring support to executives as required
• Assist in development of executive materials
• Conduct research as required
• Assist in event planning for company-wide town hall events
• Coordinate executive photo shoots as required
• Assist with reception team management
• Oversee Corporate Communications Intern
External Communications (30%)
• Develop press releases
• Develop appointment notices
• Draft key messaging for change management related communications
• Manage maintenance of content on external websites
• Oversee and advise on viewer relations as required
• Oversee social media monitoring
• Support crisis communications as required
