Senior Consultant, Human Resources, One Year Contract

 
This position calls for a results-oriented, strategic, creative and client-centric individual to be an HR & Labour Relations business partner for Bell Media. To succeed in this role, the candidate will need to be a strong, experienced HR generalist with excellent consulting attributes paired with knowledge of both Labour Relations and Human Resources best practices.

 

You will:

  • Partner with clients to provide strategic guidance on all employee relations issues.  Provide guidance on all Labour Relations issues, interfacing with unions and fostering of union/management relationships.
  • Propose innovative solutions to your clients, focusing on engaging, managing and developing talent.
  • Advise management on the interpretation and administration of the collective agreement, resolution of Labour Relations issues and grievances.
  • Build strong relationships with support groups (ie. Legal dept., Corporate Services, etc.)

 

Job Accountabilities:

  • As a business partner, you will support the Corporate and Business Unit direction and develop a strategic people plan, including determining the human capital implications; defining the needs of the organization; assessing risks; managing client expectations; driving appropriate interventions and ensuring implementation.
  • Partner in the development and deployment of HR policy/program implementation (including change management, risk assessment, communication).
  • Responsible for the day to day management, coaching, and development of the Human Resources Consultant(s). 
  • Ensure client satisfaction through follow-up, client responsiveness and direct communication.
  • Engage as a strategic advisor in all aspects of HR and Labour Relations planning, organization design, performance management, resource planning and leadership development.

 

Critical Competencies:

  • University degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations or related discipline – or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience;
  • Business acumen and strategic focus
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong partnerships and client relationships
  • Able to lead and foster change initiatives and client ownership in change management.
  • Experience managing multiple large projects;
  • Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to gain the attention and involvement of the most sophisticated and difficult audiences;
  • High degree of proficiency in all MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint and Word); knowledge of SAP an asset;
  • Strong sense of urgency; results and action oriented;
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to exercise sound independent judgement;
  • Strong planning and organization skills;
  • Firm but elegant influencing skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including solid listening skills.
  • Past experience in working with collective agreements would be an asset
