Role:
The CTV Specialty Production Videotape Operator is responsible for the provision of all videotape and playback requirements within an assigned studio production crew.
Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate production VTR requirements with those of transmission and screening
- Record program events to HD Media or server
- Playback and edit Sony XD HD elements as required for studio production
- Play out A\V files from the Harris ESX system for studio production
- Playback and record to EVS systems
- Dubbing of a variety of formats with or without supervision from production staff
- Monitor recording of CTV Specialty studio productions to ensure that network technician standards are met
Critical requirements:
- A sense of logistics and organization to plan machine traffic for production needs
- Extensive editing skills in a machine-to-machine environment
- Be able to manage stress, high pressure and constant technical changes
- To perform individual duties while working within the broader scope of the "Live" television production team
- Post-secondary education in broadcasting or a related field, or equivalent experience required
Preferred qualifications:
- Extensive Harris ESX experience or equivalent
- Knowledge of EVS system
Work conditions:
- Work schedule: 40hrs per week: availability to work days, evenings and week-ends. Overtime as required.
