The Bell Residential Services team is in the business of enabling customers to connect with people, information and entertainment by delivering integrated products and service experience for consumers while enhancing our competitiveness in the marketplace. The team provides customers with Bell Home phone, local and long distance services, Bell Internet, Bell Satellite TV and amazing new technologies such as Bell Fibe TV.
Position Description:
The Bell Mobility – Mobile Devices & Logistics team (MD&L), a leader in the wireless communications industry, is a dynamic organization committed to delivering services that meet the wireless communication needs of today's rapidly growing communication industry.
The team is seeking a high energy Manager to help meet targets in this fast paced, highly competitive marketplace. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to work in a high profile, dynamic and challenging environment with opportunities to interact with Bell senior leaders and influence the strategic planning process for Mobility.
Position Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for supporting the MD&L team financial processes and developing operational reports including executive level scorecards. This is a highly visible role and ideal for individuals that are comfortable presenting to Executives and acting as a positive change agent. This role will manage a small team.
Responsibilities include:
• Drive opex and business planning for MD&L
o Develop and maintain forecasts and financial models for reverse logistics and inventory provision
o Act as a finance subject matter expert and support operations teams
o Help explain the impact of business issues and improvement initiatives to executives and finance
• Own the capital planning process for MD&L
o Prepare capital project business cases and accompanying presentations
o Monitor capex spending against budget
• Own the operational budget for process changes & improvements
o Assist in triage of change requests
o Review business cases for reasonability and recommend next steps
o Track spending against budget
• Prepare and lead executive level presentations to review operational results and discuss the financial impact
• Develop and monitor internal controls over expenses and inventory
• Operational Reporting for MD&L programs such as repair and smart phone care
o Identify, develop and produce operational reports to help drive day-to-day decision making
o Develop, monitor, update and maintain centralized KPI’s for various MD&L programs
• Develop and distribute executive and management level scorecards
o Validate results and provide variance analysis for material changes in results
Core Competencies:
• Sound knowledge of financial concepts, including internal controls
• Understanding of MD&L business operations
• Ability to challenge the status quo
• Comfortable preparing and presenting executive level presentations
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
• University degree with a Finance, Business and/or related discipline
• 5+ years of leadership experience in Finance, Business, Strategy or PMO
• Proven ability to manage projects and leading cross functional teams
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to think strategically
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
• Strong business and financial acumen
• Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint
• Good knowledge of the evolving competitive telecom environment
