Location: CTV Saskatoon
Salary: Group 4, Unifor, Local 817M. Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours of Work: 30 hours per week. Evening/late night or early morning hours may be required.
Responsibilities: 
Chase Producer for CTV Saskatoon’s Morning Show. Specific responsibilities include:
 • Generating interesting, original, current story ideas that keep CTV ahead of the competition and our viewers watching longer
 • Tracking down high-profile and expert guests for on-air interviews
 • Preparing research packages and questions for use by on-air hosts
 • Finding, booking, and pre-interviewing guests for air
 • Monitoring and staying abreast of news of the day, as well as issues and trends that impact residents of Saskatoon.
 • Writing to website and update social media as required
 • Contributing to the station’s on-going diversity initiatives, and actively reflect the diversity of the Saskatoon community in daily news coverage
 • Other related duties as assigned  
Qualifications: 
 • Degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary broadcast program or related television news experience
 • Proven editorial news judgment with high journalistic standards
 • Solid understanding of broadcast law
 • Creative writing skills
 • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
 • Ability to work in a team, and be self-motivated
 • Ability to prioritize and juggle tasks and assignments in a deadline-driven environment
 • Newsroom lineup skills and production control room experience an asset
 • Proficiency in social networks an asset, excellent computer skills required including experience in nonlinear editing
 • Knowledge of iNews, Gateway, Inscriber an asset
 • On air presentation skills considered an asset
 • A valid Class 5 or equivalent driver’s license is required
