Job Duties/Accountabilities:
- Reporting to the Manager of Planning & Emerging Services in Wireless Technology Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing concept and feasibility assessments (scope, time, and cost) of potential solutions base on business requirements and technology roadmap
- Translating business requirements from various Bell business units (Service Development, Bell Business Market, Marketing and Sales, Client Care, Pricing, ISIT, etc.) into technical requirements for solution design and vendor evaluation
- Working with internal and external partners to design, integrate and test platforms/solutions in lab environment and prior to deployment to production
- Providing supports to other Bell teams and external partners during deployment and post-launch issue resolution
- Developing vendor selection strategy and criteria
- Performing vendor evaluation, selection/recommendation
- Supporting procurement specialists, as technical subject matter experts, in the procurement processes such as RFI and RFP
- Developing technology roadmap for emerging services such as M2M/IoT
- Supporting project management activities throughout the project life-cycle
- Supporting financial and human resources planning (Long Range Planning, Next Year Planning, Staffing Profile, etc.)
- Training/mentoring less experienced members in the team
Technical Qualifications/Competencies:
- Expert knowledge and hands-on application of M2M and IoT industry standards, reference architectures, protocols, products/platforms and vendors
- Demonstrated authority in one or more specific M2M/IoT markets and ecosystems
- Working knowledge of cellular network access, core and VAS network elements, including functionality and protocol/ message sequence
- Working knowledge of Over the Air (OTA) technologies allowing updates to SIM cards and devices (SIM OTA, Subscription Management, Subscription SIM, DM manager and clients, etc)
- Working knowledge of Web Services and Cloud Computing Services
- Knowledge of subscriber/service provisioning, charging and billing
- Knowledge of network/device security standards and protocols
- Knowledge of data warehouse, secure storage, and data intelligence
- Knowledge of server virtualization
- Knowledge of SOAP/XML
- Knowledge of TCP/UDP, HTTPS, ZigBee, Bluetooth
Other Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent – Master’s Degree is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of working experiences in architecting and deploying end-to-end M2M/IoT platforms for wireless carrier
- Minimum 10 years of telecommunication experience, preferable with major wireless carrier
