Bell Business Markets provides a vast array of communications solutions for small, medium, and large organizations. These include managed data and network solutions, cloud computing, conferencing, Web, security solutions and integrated information and communications technology (ICT) services.
Position Description:
As a Network Architect within Bell’s Security Operations and Service Delivery team the candidate is expected to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to act as a key contributor in the planning, architecting, design and implementation of complex network solutions. The successful candidate will possess a keen interest for problem solving, creative thinking, being an active member of a self-motivated and enthusiastic team providing critical skills to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of mission critical IT infrastructure and data assets.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will be accountable for the following:
- Develops architecture strategies, principles, standards and frameworks
- Translates business requirements into architectural and high level designs
- Defines and plans network solutions to support SO&SD current and future business needs
- Analyzes and evaluates detailed network designs to ensure service availability, integrity and confidentiality
- Investigates and resolves problems, inefficiencies, and network performance
- Works with stakeholders and vendors to understand product and solution roadmaps
- Accountable for Capacity, Performance and Change management
- Pro-actively participates in vendor negotiations, technical and process issues resolution
- Acts as single point of contact on all network architecture related matters
- Works in collaboration with Network Engineers, Administrators and other support functions
- Produces and Maintains accurate documentation (build books, design documents and visio diagrams)
- Delivers results in support of achieving the organization's Service Level Agreements
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
- A Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
- 5+ years of technical experience with at least 3 years in a security environment
- CISCO certifications (CCNA or similar) are a requirement
- Professional certifications relating to McAfee, F5 would be highly desirable
- Autonomous and energetic individual
- Hands on working experience with network infrastructure and tools
- Ability to oversee and work simultaneously on different requirements with a variety of projects and short timelines
- Excellent analytical capabilities as well as time management, interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation skills)
- Experience with Data Center Design: Security, Network, System, WAN, WLAN,
- Ability to create technical solution within business and organizational constraints
- Actively participate in out of hours support, deployment and maintenance activities
- Bilingualism preferred (English essential, French a strong asset)
- An 'Active' Secret Security Level Clearance is required
