Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week. Travel as required.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Engineering, Information Technology and Facilities at Bell Media broadcast stations and tower sites throughout Southwestern Ontario (4 TV/16 Radio licenses).
- Manage a team of 4 Chief Engineers and provide support for 24 staff throughout region.
- Ensure staff competencies and build a team that collaboratively engages with internal Bell Media peers and clients, other BCE partners, and external contacts.-
- Direct day to day management of work performed by the CTV Barrie Engineering, IT and Facilities team.
- Supported by, aligned closely with, and taking direction from Senior Bell Media leaders at local and corporate levels, responsibilities throughout the region include but are not limited to:
- Development and management of departmental budgets,
- Purchasing and contracting,
- Maintenance and implementation of technical systems associated with broadcast and content production,
- Maintenance and implementation of IT and communications systems,
- Maintenance and implementation of all systems associated with building facilities,
- Real estate transactions, leases, landlords and tenants
- Corporate Policy, Regulatory and various code compliance,
- Coordination of special projects,
- Environmental management,
- Emergency Preparedness and coordination including security,
- Fleet management,
- Business recovery,
- Property insurance,
- Training
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education, specializing in Electronics or Broadcast Technology.
- Strong knowledge of RF transmission systems and I.T.
- Minimum 5 years of applied experience in the Broadcasting Industry, including: Fibre, satellite and microwave distribution, HVAC, electrical and general facilities systems, Maintenance of broadcast technical equipment and transmitters.
- MUST have project management and supervisory experience & skills.
- MUST be a self starter, exceptional collaborator and team builder.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- MUST be well organized and capable of coordinating multiple assignments & activities,
- An overall understanding of the live program production process is necessary.
- Commitment to excellence and ongoing education in broadcast engineering, IT and facilities management.
- Valid driver’s license.
