Our Customer Operations team is responsible for strategy, design and delivery of core call centre tools and processes, including queue strategy, routing, and call monitoring tools.
We are currently seeking a Data Architect to be part of an Agile BI team. Advance knowledge of TERADATA 13.10 is highly desirable. This individual will have had recent hands-on experience as a Data Architect performing activities like: data modeling, data definitions, data integration, influencing data structures for an organization. As well, the Data Architect will have experience eliciting data requirements from business stakeholders to translate it into the appropriate data architecture that is holistic, scalable and will align to enterprise standards and its information architecture. This role will be internal customer/business facing, so strong oral and written communication skills are essential. On a day-to-day basis, this individual could participate in multiple projects performing a range of data architecture related activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and leadership to perform analysis and provide solutions
- Rethink and influence strategy and roadmap for building scalable data solutions and scalable data warehouse environment
- Prepare technical documents for data mappings, data dictionaries, data lineage etc.
- Create and maintain data architecture, data management conventions and standards, naming and metadata standards
- Develop and maintain conceptual, physical and logical data models
- Implement physical models and responsible for fine tuning and performance tuning
- Lead data optimization and clean-up projects
- Lead capacity planning exercises and help project teams to estimate the cost
- Lead Semantic layer Data Model development to support BI tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, SAS)
- Act as the in-house Subject Matter Expert (SME) on issues of data architecture.
- Provide technical leadership related to data modeling, data management, integration and warehousing, storage and business intelligence.
- Develops and approves strategies for continuous improvement in data management.
Desired Skills and Experience
- B.S. or MS degree in Computer Science, business or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Over 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse design, conceptual, logical and physical data modeling
- Over 5 years of experience as an Enterprise level Data Architect with a large organization dealing with large set of data
- Over 5 years of experience physical tuning of databases I.E Indexes, partitions, Compressions etc on a MPP architecture based RDBMS.
- Solid understanding of both Inmon and Kimball models and approaches to data warehouse.
- Advanced proficiency in dimensional modeling and semantic data modeling concepts.
- Expertise and knowledge in data management, business intelligence, master data management, and data services architectural frameworks.
- Good understanding of OLAP tools such as Microstrategy, SAS, and Tableau and experience with multi-dimensional modeling.
- Solid experience with Data Modeling tools such as ERWIN 9, Power Designer, and Data Model Driven approach
- Solid Teradata RDBMS and ETL experience with some major ETL Tool.
- Solid understanding of generic and conventional modeling approaches.
- A Passion for technologies and data architecture and the ability to effect change
- Presentation and Project Management skills
