The Role:

Bell Mobility Radio is an industry leader in designing, building and managing mission critical two way (PTT) radio systems.  To effectively serve our provincial and municipal public safety users we need to stay at the forefront of solutions innovation, strategy and change within the radio industry.  Our focus is on profitable revenue growth by developing and standardizing products and services that attract and retain customers to the unique strengths and capabilities of Bell.

 

In an environment where today’s partner may be tomorrow’s competitor, the Business Development role will require you to work closely with vendors, clients,  sales teams and senior management to identify wireless voice and data products that integrate with Bell capabilities provide unique services and solutions around the best networks for our Land Mobile Radio customers. This team is driving innovation, both inside Bell and within our customer organizations.

 

As a key member of our Radio group, the sales team is your primary customer. The service development work performed by the Business Development Manager will help set the foundation of success in our sales teams dialogue with existing and new customers about “Why Bell Radio?”

 

Responsibilities:

  • Seek to create new revenue opportunities through innovative product and service development
  • Be a mini-CEO for your products & services from conception to launch
  • Create analytical models and business cases to determine ROI of solutions and projects
  • Present business solutions and recommendations to Senior Executives
  • Refine a New Product Introduction (NPI) process for Bell Radio
  • Manage existing and create new products and services through the NPI system
  • Create and manage Bell and customer Total Cost to Own / Operate (TCO) models
  • Work with management on product roadmap and next generation planning
  • Partner with marketing and sales for effective messaging and market awareness program

 

Critical Competencies:

 

  • Possess over 10 years experience performing product/service development and management in the Telecom or other technology industry.  Land Mobile Radio industry experience strongly preferred
  • Enjoy problem solving
  • Comfortable with analytics and able to use data to tell a story
  •  Possess an ability to organize and plan effectively to deliver on business objectives
  • Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong skills with Office applications (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
  • Knowledge of overall business management, business processes, and P & L
