The Bell Mobility team offers a full range of wireless products and services for residential and business customers, including the largest selection of superphones on the fastest and most advanced network technology.
Name and description of hiring department:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Wireless Connectivity Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing on key strategies to grow Bell Mobility's data revenues and profitability through development of wireless connectivity solutions to meet the evolving needs of the Consumer and Business segments.
The portfolio will focus on the following key objectives:
- Grow the business by launching key wireless services that support the data connectivity needs of our clients
- Deliver a best in class service experience for our customers
- Drive adoption of wireless data services and devices in all category segments
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
- Support the introduction of wireless data services, targeting consumer and business clients, and ensuring channel readiness for sales and support.
- Manage relationships with internal partners and 3rd party service providers and vendors to deliver on services, and resolve issues as required.
- Track and manage the service portfolio revenue and subscriber metrics : ensuring alignment with corporate financial targets, improving performance, optimizing cost structure, improving customer experience, developing product roadmaps, etc.
- Monitor and understand market conditions and technology developments – including worldwide and local trends, competitive landscape, vendor development, research data, standards development, etc. – and its implications on the services portfolio.
- Identify and develop new services as required to improve portfolio performance, including development of the business case/financial strategy, collection and definition of service requirements from all stakeholders, launch tactics, etc.
- Lead cross-functional teams with various technical, business, and marketing backgrounds to develop concepts from idea to launch, including the selection of proper technologies, vendors, etc.
- Manage the deliverables of service development, including approvals, budget, timelines, resources, etc.
- Co-ordinate all aspects of new product launch – literature, advertising, pricing, beta tests, training, service, etc.
Experience / Core Competencies:
- 3 or more years experience working in a telecommunications or high technology company.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required, with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Fluency in spoken and written French is highly desirable. - Able to communicate and interact professionally with corporate and business clients to understand requirements and set expectations.
- University degree in a technical (Computer Science or Engineering) or Business discipline.
- Prior experience in business development, product management, marketing, software or hardware development is highly desirable.
- Able to lead teams with differing objectives and guide them to work effectively toward a common goal.
- Prior experience in telecommunications or Internet (vendor or carrier) is highly desirable.
- Technically inclined and able to understand new technologies very quickly to determine the impact on new and existing business within Bell Mobility.
- Motivated and self-disciplined and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of public/private and static/dynamic IP addressing, including implications to VPN connectivity in a business environment.
- Basic understanding of data connection policy management (minimum bit rates, latency. Service priority vs. connection priority, etc) relative to computer networking in a business environment.
- Fluent in the use of business software tools such as Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Excel, and Word (database experience also an asset)
