Overview:
The Loop is looking for a highly organized, experienced web producer to join its content team. Strong editorial and writing chops are a must, as well as an obsession with all things lifestyle- and health-related. The ideal candidate will bring a fresh perspective to this well-covered ground and be able to turn big ideas into original, engaging, high-performing content that cuts through the Internet noise. He or she should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment in a role that is equal parts creative, strategic and technical. The highly collaborative position involves working closely with writers, a broader team of web and video producers, as well as The Loop’s homepage, social and sales teams.


Responsibilities:
• Write/assign, edit and publish 15-20 posts per week across The Loop’s Life and Health sections, including, but not limited to, you, food, travel, money, fitness and nutrition
• Maintain editorial calendar for Life and Health sections
• Identify emerging trends and stories in lifestyle/health space
• Manage a diverse team of freelance writers and source new talent
• Oversee selection/creation of featured art and edit as needed
• Ensure all content is timely, functional, accurate and embodies the voice and tone of The Loop
• Monitor content performance and optimize accordingly to ensure Life and Health sections meet monthly traffic goals
• Work with the managing editor to define and evolve editorial vision of Life and Health sections
• Represent The Loop at press events and in external media


Qualifications:
• 5+ years of editorial experience in digital media with a focus on lifestyle and/or health
• Degree or equivalent college diploma in journalism, communications, English or related fields
• Proven ability to write, edit and package stories; well-versed in digital strategy
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• A broad network of proven writers and contributors
• A working knowledge of HTML
• Fully competent with Photoshop for editing and optimizing images
• Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain creativity in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment, with multiple stakeholders
• Must be available to periodically work outside of typical office hours
• On-camera experience an asset
