Position: Community Cruiser – Temporary Summer position, Dawson Creek, BC
Location: Dawson Creek & Fort St John, British Columbia
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Responsibilities:
- Represent our radio stations in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek at events happening in and around the BC Peace Region.
- Conduct weekly on-location mini remote broadcasts for major sponsor clients as required
- File on-air reports from community events over three radio stations
- Coordinate and plan event itinerary weekly with Supervisors for both Fort St. John and Dawson Creek
- Maintain promotional inventory and community cruiser vehicle
- Post schedule and blog on station websites
- Be responsible for equipment set up/take down for promotional and commercial events
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends including statutory holidays all summer
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Reliable, organized and punctual
- Energetic and outgoing personality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess the maturity to work without supervision in an independent setting
- Ability to take direction from supervisory personnel
- Knowledge of all three radio station audiences and the ability to relate to a wide demographic
- Attention to detail
- Basic computer skills required
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- A valid BC driver’s license, safe driving record and comfortable with regular highway driving
- Street level promotions experience, with ability to problem solve and deal with adversity
- At least 1 year of Broadcasting college or equivalent on air experience
