Position: Master Control Switcher – CJDC TV – 3 month contract position
Location: Dawson Creek, BC
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Responsibilities:
On a temporary basis and with the support of the News Director, you will:
- Switch commercials in programming
- Import and monitor commercials in cover-over
- Import and maintain web content (news stories, photos, program schedules)
- Closed caption all local programming
- Monitor audio and video levels at all times to maintain consistent high quality notifying news Director or Engineer of any equipment or technical problems.
- Complete documentation for every shift including the actual airtime for every commercial and program that runs entered in the appropriate position on the log.
- Co-ordinate special projects as necessary including archiving television material
- Understand all aspects of television and news production techniques
- Present the markets only relevant source of information in a live daily newscast
- Be able to work nights and weekends in a high pressure environment
Skill requirements:
- Possess the ability to shoot, edit, & create television content in a multitasking environment
- Be able to work independently and as part of a dynamic television team
- Experience with non-linear editing systems
- Proficiency in Photoshop
- Ability to work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision and/or frequently un-supervised
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Mature, calm and professional manner
- Strong communication, writing and creativity.
- Able to take instruction with ease; willing to learn
- Represent Bell Media with integrity, respect and mature judgment
- Strong references
