Job summary
The role of the Data Center Implementation Manager is vital in the delivery and support of services offered to Co-Lo and Managed customers located in Bell Aliant Data Center. This person will also be involved with any internal work and major builds that support either capacity expansion of internal projects. This role has been developed to define clear ownership of customer hosted solution implementation from the time when the contract is signed through to, and including implementation. The Data Center Implementation Manager will also be involved in supporting customers for augmentations and changes to existing infrastructure configurations and dealing with the change and customer contact and making sure we have everyone we need involved. The Data Center Implementation Manager will be a key contact during the implementation process and sign-off on commitment prior to contracts being finalized with Customers. This role will interface closely with many groups such as CSE’s, Customer Account Teams, Data Center Operations, Data Center Planning and design, Server Management and Bell Aliant Project Managers in support of Hosted Services.
Key Responsibilities (ongoing - still being defined):
• Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all work being performed in the Data Center
• Customer facing SPOC during implementation phase for Co-Lo and Managed Customers
• Participate in contract sign-off to ensure Operations can deliver on implementation/ongoing support commitments
• Participate in “Customer Funnel” discussions to understand impact to Data Center Operations
• Interact with Data Center planning and design, Project Managers, Account Teams and Operations Teams
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of Data Center process documentation
• Proactively advise on areas for improvement
• Represent Data Center Operations on Data Center tours
• Approve all Data Center Requests and Change Requests on behalf of DC Operations
• Ensure Corporate Policies and Standards are being followed (i.e. Change Management, Data Center Standards, etc.)
• Act as “Hands & Feet” for Midrange Server Management team when possible
• Provides final signoff for all installations to ensure Operations have taken ownership of the installation to agreed to standards
Requirements:
- Background in networking, IT management, electrical distribution systems. Experience in dealing with external business customers and service delivery.
Education:
- College diploma or university degree in business, electrical engineering or equivalent experience
Optional Skill Set:
- Billingual, Experience with Critical Building's HVAC
