Reporting to the Manager of Product Planning in Wireless Technology Products, the successful candidate will lead the technical introduction of new handsets, smartphones and data devices for Bell Mobility (& affiliates).  The incumbent will work in a dynamic environment together with business groups and device manufactures to ensure time-to-market delivery of products. 

 

This position requires self-motivated individuals who can draw upon, or develop, their Architectural leadership in areas such as back-office systems, network core/RAN infrastructures & service platforms (as required), to lead cross-functional teams and drive towards meeting deliverables.

 

This candidate must have strong project management skills to make certain all targets are met by various contributors. In addition, close interaction is required with Technology and Marketing teams, as well as, 3rd party developers to ensure proper integration of device, services and technology. 

 

Specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to, as follows:

  • Plan new handsets and data devices to meet business demands
  • Champion meetings for product introduction with various stakeholders including Mobile Devices, Services Development, Wireless Technology, ISIT and OEM teams
  • Define scope, create schedule and support platform provisioning during product introduction
  • Develop process and implement continuous improvement ensuring time-to-market efficiencies
  • Serve as prime interface for Wireless Technology Products on cross-functional projects ensuring synchronization of deliverables to overall program
  • Produce weekly reports communicating overall program status & milestones to team members, project stakeholders and Management
  • Lead RFI/P initiatives on new product technology investigation and opportunities

 

Essential Qualifications

  • B.Eng / B.Sc in Electrical, Electronics or Systems Engineering (P.Eng. or eligibility)
  • Minimum 5 years wireless experience in technology with familiarity of Bell Wireless products
  • Assertive with strong interpersonal communications and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Self motivated with ability to work individually and in a team environment
  • Multi-tasking abilities with strong organization skills
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating project activities
  • Proven experience in Project Planning
  • Technical Competencies in LTE, HSPA, CDMA, WiFi and Bluetooth
  • Knowledgeable in NFC, OMA, IPv6, IMS, VoLTE, VoWiFi, RCS, USIM, E911, GPS
  • Familiarity with Industry Standards, Regulatory Bodies and Approval Procedures such as 3GPP, FCC, IC, PTCRB, GCF, EMVCO
  • Strong command of the English language with focus on written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of Mobile Operating Systems: BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Android, iOS       

                                     

Preferred Qualification/Competencies:

  • Familiarity with chipsets technologies and wireless device architecture
  • Previous experience in Project Management within the telecommunication industry
