Responsibilities:
- News reporting, script writing and voicing;
- Shoot and edits video;
- Live reporting;
- Generating, researching and investigating stories ideas;
- Conduct interviews and screen tape;
- Prepare texts and content for our Web site, social media platforms and other digital media;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BA in journalism equivalent;
- 3 years experience in broadcast journalism;
- Excellent writing skills and strong presentation skills;
- Proven abilities in camera and editing;
- VJ experience an asset;
- Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to work independently, under pressure and within tight deadlines;
- Ability to report live on air;
- Solid editorial judgment and proven ability to produce original story ideas and enterprise reporting;
- Proven knowledge of local news stories and issues;
- Strong people skills;
- Ability to deal with new and emerging technology;
- Computer literacy and experience in iNews a definite asset;
- Ability to work under stress and deadlines;
- Fluently bilingual (English and French).
- Valid driver’s licence
