Hours of Work: Fulltime
Responsibilities:
•Report on news events
•Report and accurately researches and produces original news stories, generating strong story ideas
•Tackling assignments to stay up-to-date on what’s happening in the community and nationally
•Edit news stories, content and audio for on-air use
•Update and maintain station website and social media accounts
•Perform news desk checks
•Anchor/host, if necessary
•Develop and maintain a list of contacts in the community
•Maintain regular contact with news makers and community leaders
•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 2 years of experience as a reporter, with preference given to a proven track record of achievement
•Excellent writing and reporting skills to produce engaging, accurate stories
•Knowledge of BURLI, WideOrbit and Twisted Wave is an asset
•Bilingualism is an asset
•Must be self-motivated, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
•In possession of a valid driver’s license with a clear driving abstract
•Excellent interpersonal and organization skills
Bilingualism is an asset (English & French)
