As an analyst for the Facilities Engineering department’s Infrastructure Planning team, the incumbent will collaborate on the development and documentation of policies and procedures linked to the team’s objectives and day-to-day activities within mission critical environments (i.e. Telecommunication switching centers and data centers).

In addition to providing administrative support, the successful candidate will participate in the development and analysis of studies related to mission critical facility risk management. A collaboration with various subject matter experts as well as documentation of study results will be required in order to meet the Infrastructure team’s risk management objectives.

 

Real Estate Services (BRES) is responsible for the building infrastructure supporting telecommunication and Information Technology equipment installed within Bell Canada facilities.

 

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and document team policies and procedures.
  • Perform training on the implementation of the policies and procedures.
  • Develop a document management policy, complete with a control numbering system, and include the latter within existing documentation.
  • Collaborate in the development of the scope of work for maintenance contracts related to emergency power generators and electrical equipment.
  • Develop a risk evaluation methodology based on the probability of failure and impact of building electromechanical system components.
  • Develop analysis tools.
  • Identify input parameters and analyse output trends.
  • Document the methodology.
  • Work on a project cost benchmarking tool based on market trends in order to be able to provide high level budgetary estimates.
  • Identify and analyze HVAC system configuration of mission critical facilities.

 

Essential Qualifications :

  • Electrical or mechanical engineering student (University or College)
  • Knowledge of building electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to adapt to change
  • Strong ability to work in a team
  • Must be bilingual, English and French
  • Self-sufficient

 

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies :

  • Knowledge of Uptime Institute’s TIER certification
  • Knowledge of telecommunication and IT equipment
  • Understanding of critical electromechanical equipment commissioning
  • Strong knowledge of building electromechanical systems
  • Experience in design of building electromechanical infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of mission critical facility applications
  • Strong knowledge of building codes
  • Strong knowledge of arc flash regulations
