The team provides customers with Bell Home phone, local and long distance services, Bell Internet, Bell Satellite TV and amazing new technologies such as Bell Fibe TV.

Position Description:
In this high-visibility, strategic role, reporting to the VP of BRS Product Solutions, the
Director of BRS Hardware Product Management and Logistics will manage and own all aspects of BRS in Home Hardware. This includes ongoing product management and development of Residential Gateways, Satellite STBs and our flag-ship Fibe TV hardware products. The candidate will also manage the ongoing operation of the end-to-end CPE supply chain with over $400M in annual spend. Responsibilities include relationships, contracting and fiduciary responsibility of OEMs and Third Party Logistics companies, managing transportation requirements, interacting with key stakeholders such as Product Development, Field Services & Customer Operations and liaising with several branches of government for environmental and health regulations.
Successful candidates will be an excellent leaders and make the customer experience flawless while maintaining a commitment to deliver every project on time, on budget and as profitable as possible. The candidate will be a key interface between the hardware manufacturers, technology development, front-line, and back-office teams, while maintaining concise updates for the executive team. This role requires leadership, maturity, and solid business acumen and an deep-seated impulse to sweat the details of a product, operations and projects.
Job Duties / Accountabilities:
The Director will report the VP of BRS Product solutions and manage a team of over 20 people with accountabilities for Bells Coast-to-Coast CPE management.
The roles keys responsibilities include:
- Lead a team of seasoned professionals responsible for all product hardware introductions, management and logistics.
- Working with your team identifying and exploring opportunities and threats to the BRS business and identify hardware and processes that can drive improvements in cost, customer experience and competitiveness.
- Partnering with teams in TD/IT/Network/Field/Call Centre and Marketing to understand key challenges, barriers and implications associated with hardware management and logistics activities. Understanding potential risks and communicating the associated mitigation plans concisely to key stakeholders.
- Working with Silicon providers and OEMs to make sure we are on the leading edge of available hardware technology.
- Managing the relations with our hardware vendors and logistics providers including providing detailed requirements for future products and processes, negotiating pricing and operating agreements and managing ongoing operational issues.
- Management of the hardware product lifecycle across modems, Fibe and DTH STBs
- Leading cross functional hardware stakeholder teams to monitor hardware quality and performance and manage any changes in process or hardware as required to eliminate issues.
- Responsible for all hardware business cases and budgets for new hardware introductions and enhancements. This will involve end-to-end understanding of key cost and revenue drivers.
- Responsible for ensuring flawless execution of launches. This will involve detailed take-to-market planning and implementation, measuring against KPIs and recommending interventions where necessary.
- Work closely with transportation providers to control and minimize annual freight spend while maximizing service levels.
- Forecast and plan projected hardware materials requirements and manage the pipeline of assigned materials activity to ensure adequate resources are applied to improve cost control, volume changes, delivery accuracy and inventory availability.
- Develop and manage internal and external relationships with partners pursuing opportunities to add value throughout distribution network.
- Leading hardware projects with all BRS governance processes by providing timely and accurate input to budgeting & planning exercises. Also managing key stakeholders by ensuring that the Executive stakeholder team has constant visibility on progress vs. committed plans.
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
- A university degree based on engineering or business.
- Minimum 5 years experience working in a logistics environment.
- A history of leadership in a product management and delivery capacity.
- Solid business and financial acumen. Must be able to understand and articulate the present and future key drivers of any project’s success.
- Experience in multidisciplinary projects in strategy, technology and finance.
- Experience managing multimillion dollar projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing and negotiating with external partners.
- Excellent problem solving skills and track record of strong analytical and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to multi-task and quickly adjust to changing priorities, with proven organizational and project management skills.
- Superior attention to detail and execution skills with ability to take initiative and “get the job done” attitude.
- Proven ability to learn and understand new technologies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to be a team player.
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
- Previous experience in hardware product management and logistics/marketing/finance, ideally in the fields of telecomm or home entertainment.
- Experience in complex modelling and analysis; demonstrated proficiency in spreadsheet applications and database management.
- Track record of business strategy and operations including business processes, revenue and cost components and drivers of these measures
