The Role:
The successful candidate will need to possess strong analytical and technical skills and a clear ability to identify key business trends and issues. The candidate will also have strong communication skills to build relationships at various levels of the organization and the confidence to participate in senior-level discussions. In addition, the candidate will be a self-starter that is able to work independently to complete specified tasks under tight deadlines within a fast-paced working environment.
Job Duties/Accountabilities::
- Provide financial knowledge and assist the Associate Director in various Wireless revenue projects
- Preparing journal entries, analyze month end revenues as well as KPI and work with the business to provide insightful business driver rate/volume explanations for budget and prior year variances
- Work closely with Operations to understand and evaluate key business trends/ratios and to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reported results as well as budgets
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual forecasts
- Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis as required
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
- An accounting designation or working towards a designation (CMA, CA or CGA)
- Excellent skills in Excel, Macros, financial modeling and presenting results using trending graphs/charts using tools such as PowerPoint.
- Strong financial systems/tools knowledge including Microsoft SQL Server, SAS, and MicroStrategy
- Strong/ proven critical thinking / analytical skills
- Ability to conduct effective research and analyze results
- Ability to streamline processes to improve both speed and accuracy of reporting and planning
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze numbers for accuracy and reasonableness
- Month-end reporting experience
- Ability to work with and present to all levels of Bell employees including senior management
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills)
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a finance role
- Preferred to have experience with SAP
