The Senior Specialist for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Operations will be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of the enterprise data loss prevention (DLP) solution. The person in this role will work with incident response and networking professionals and will be responsible for day-to-day management of the solution and of the alerts coming from the DLP system. Additionally, this person will be responsible for working with the various lines of business within Bell to develop or modify the process and rules surrounding the protection of sensitive information.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Responsible for monitoring alerts generated from DLP and other technologies
- Understand and follow the incident response process through event escalations
- Create, document, and maintain DLP policies / rules / processes.
- Work with the lines of business to enhance / change current business processes to mitigate the potential of data loss.
- Work with DLP Lead to produce weekly and monthly operational metrics and present to the appropriate governance bodies.
- Analyze and develop processes to support the DLP environment
- Coordination with IT operations in the capacity and performance planning of the solution
- Familiar with regulatory requirements (PCI, PIPEDA, etc.)
- Lead partnering with vendors and internal customers to respond to escalations
- Training and mentoring of the Senior and Junior Data Loss Analysts.
Qualifications:
- Excellent understanding of network and host based DLP technology
- Good understanding of DLP policy / rule creation
- Working knowledge of various regulatory requirements such as PCI, PIPEDA, etc.
- Excellent team skills and integrity in a professional environment
- Good social, communication and technical writing skills
- Existing Secret clearance or ability to obtain is preferred
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or relative work experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years in a dedicated IT security role with at least 2-3 years focused in one or more of the following:
- DLP technology and methodology
- Operation of DLP in an enterprise environment including end-point and network based technologies
- Researching and associating DLP events with use patterns involving removable devices, email or other network based data transfer methods
- Operational responsibilities within a Security Operations Centre (SOC)
- Member of an Incident Response team (CSIRT)
- Security auditing
Certification Requirements:
- Professional certifications such as the CISSP, GCIA, CISM, CISA or DLP specific certifications such as (Symantec, McAfee and RSA) are a plus.
