The Commercial Production and Promotions Senior Producer is a leadership and creative role, responsible for creating and executing commercial concepts, as well as overseeing production planning and budgeting, centralizing production facilities bookings for Creative Services and assisting in generating commercial production revenue.
Is responsible of :
• Overseeing and coordinating the creative conceptualization, development and execution of advertising committments (received or obtained by account representatives / clients) for CTV Montreal;
• Working closely with account representatives and Creative Services Manager, participating in the conception / adaptation of advertising or promotional messages for the needs of CTV clients in a effort to help generate commercial production revenue;
• Weekly planning, organizing and prioritizing of department production needs;
• Centralizing and maintaining facilities booking schedule for promotions Writer-Producers (camera requests) ;
• These functions are not exclusive to this position and may be performed by Writer-Producers, as required.
• The incumbent must perform his/her duties according to industry goals, as well as CTV’s mission and values.
Main Responsibilities
1. According to CTV standards and procedures, ensure the execution of:
- Proposing and creating innovative and creative advertising campaigns based on client main messaging needs, budget and timeframe; maintaining strong and positive client relations;
- Working closely with promotions Writer-Producers to ensure overall creative standards of the department;
- In addition, contributing to the on-going Promotional needs of CTV’s Creative Services department, including news promos, special features, productions for Bell/Bell Media and other daily requirements, as needed.
2. Coordinating procedures for commercial commitments for CTV Retail Sales:
- Producing commercial spots from start to finish: Conceptualize, write copy, book cameras and talent, direct talent and crew on-site, manage assets, oversee post-production, delivery and revisions;
- Actively participating in the development of advertising or promotional concepts and in brainstorming sessions.
- Coordinating, adapting and producing all facets of customer projects (commercial messages, sponsorships, promotions, contests, etc.) with all required and appropriate elements while respecting the budgetary framework and timelines and approved in accordance with CTV’s laws, policies, procedures and standards well as requests of account representatives;
- Obtaining and preparing the required material for commercial spots and features as well as other client-related needs including promotions/contests
- Preparing quotations (according to approved production rates), have them approved by the Creative Services Manager and account representative and obtain authorization by the customer before the start of production;
- Establishing timelines and have them approved by the manager; book / cancel the technical teams facilities/rentals required internally in and externally.
- Ensuring that clients' projects are executed without omissions and on time, and that the required proofs are made available in a timely fashion.
- On occasion, the adaptation of commercials into French for other Bell stations and/or external stations for CTV clients, including closed-captioning and coordinating delivery methods/obtaining specs for these stations;
- Overseeing, executing and maintaining creative and production needs/schedule of the department
- Perform other related duties of the position
Knowledge and skills
• BA in Communications or equivalent and have 10-15 years of relevant experience in a similar position
• Management experience in leading a production team
• Familiarity with television production elements: images and sound, editing, graphics and camera equipment
• Strategic creativity (scripts, promo concepts)
• Creative flair
• Sales-oriented and client-driven
• Work experience in the management of budget and planning
• Flexibility in scheduling (operational constraints)
• Ability to learn and adapt
• Attentive to detail in the execution of tasks
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the maintenance of a healthy dynamic team
• Autonomy and the ability to organize/manage one's time
• Knowledge of Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Acrobat, Outlook, Facebook, Twitter etc.
• Excellent communication skills, English and French.
