Position: Broadcast Technician 2, Unifor 723M
Location: 299 Queen St W, Toronto (Ontario)
Salary: Group G (Commensurate with qualifications and experience)
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, shift work. Overtime as required.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain and interface with all types of television broadcast equipment specifically:
- Newsroom systems (NRS), Character Generators, Graphics Systems
- Liaison with users and vendors to coordinate projects along with producing the necessary project documentation
- Provide user and technical support instructional documentation
- Creating templates and Creating scripts
- Integration of external data feeds (sports ticker feeds, news wires, elections data etc.)
- Preparation and pre-load of lower third supers, credit rolls, graphic animations full frame boards and other graphic elements
Qualifications:
- Recognized Certificate in Engineering or Relevant Professional Certification
- Min 5 years technical experience in the broadcast industry
- Excellent phone and communication skills
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical
- Ability to analyze, assess, develop and deliver technical instructional documentation
- Strong working knowledge of broadcast equipment
- Excellent knowledge of computer and electronic hardware
- Familiar with modern Broadcast concepts, practices and procedures
- Able to multi task around conflicting deadlines with limited supervision
