The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.

The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.

 

The Bell Canada Information Technology Delivery Team is looking for a Senior Business Process Management(BPM) Consultant to lead Business Process Management projects within Bell, leveraging the IBM BPMS platform and other applications as part of the Blueprints Program. The Blueprints Program manages and develops the workflow and diagnostic tools for call centre agents and field technicians.  Through multiple backend integrations, it automates the collection and interpretation of customer data and offers actionable recommendations in both desktop and mobile web applications to ensure a consistent and structured call flow.

 

The successful candidate will directly support the end to end program partnering with the IT Program Manager and internal business teams.  They will leverage their Business Process Management expertise and knowledge of IBM BPMS to further develop our applications, incorporate best practices and act as a strategic advisor to business and IT teams in all areas related to BPM.   The candidate will be accountable to work with external vendors, internal development teams and internal business analysts. We require a highly motivated individual, who thrives in a constantly changing and exciting environment, to apply creativity and innovation in the development of solutions essential to support our business divisions, and is able to able to lead change through cross-functional teams or business unit projects.

 

The Senior BPM Consultant  is a highly specialized role that supports the delivery of the most technically challenging projects our organization is asked to work on. Involved in every cycle of project delivery, the Senior BPM Consultant is the design authority and subject matter expert with regards to best practices and overall architecture and design of our BPM projects.

 

Senior BPM Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all technical, functional and business aspects related to BPM are answered and addressed.
  • Identifying and inventory customer process pain points and gaps in best practices.
  • Leading discovery workshops, which include the facilitation of large audiences, solution presentations, and prototype demonstrations.
  • Leading conceptual solution reviews and early design sessions of new project functionality
  • Actively participating in the design and the implementation phases (including design reviews, environment setup), quantitative analysis (validation of algorithm/solution)

 

Applicant Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree
  • Equivalent experience and / or education
  • Technology
  • IBM Business Process Management (BPM) Software (formerly Lombardi)
  • .NET Application framework
  • Java/JEE Application servers
  • Administration of multi-tier & complex environments
  • OS (UNIX –Solaris/HPUX/Linux (mainly), Windows (optional))
  • Programming and markup languages (mandatory)
  • Web Services / SOA, N-Tier Architectures
  • Any procedural language (C, Perl, PHP, Shell, AWK, Expect, TK, etc)
  • Enterprise application frameworks (Java EE, ESB, .NET, etc)
  • Any OO language (Java- mainly, C/C++ an asset, Javascript, Python, etc)
  • Any markup language (HTML + CSS, XML, SGML, etc)

 

  • Databases (preferred)
  • Any RDBMS (Oracle - primarily, MySQL, SQL Server, Teradata, etc)
  • Experience building/using SQL, PL/SQL, ETL

 

Skills

  • Must be able to effectively interact with stakeholders, end users, business analysts, and technical resources to gather requirements and prepare design specifications
  • Excellent ability to articulate and document technical concepts to non-technical audience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (ability to uncover trouble rapidly and provide resolution)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, challenging environment where decisions you make will have a large process impact
  • Passionate about solving challenges by leveraging technology solutions
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English / French)
  • Proven leadership and organization skills

 

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams, handling multiple projects with geographically dispersed team members.
  • Availability to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet hard deadlines and available to work occasional overnights to take part in deployment activities
  • Ability to travel within Montreal, Ottawa, London and Toronto corridors with little advance notification; travel depending on project needs
  • Fast paced, changing working environment
