Position: Reporter– Western Correspondent, BNN
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required
Responsibilities:
• Research and present live reports on business and financial news originating in Western Canada
• Research, write, edit and produce short and long form news packages for digital and broadcast
• Research, write, edit and present daily and weekly news programs, as directed
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A minimum 2 years’ experience as a print or television business reporter is essential.
In addition, the following criteria will be considered in selecting the successful candidate.
• Solid production experience covering business news
• Working knowledge supervising the editing of video news packages
• A strong understanding of markets and financial affairs with particular knowledge of
Western based companies
• Excellent presentation skills
• Thrive under pressure
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lead a team, motivate staff and personally set the highest professional
Journalism standards.
