Revenue Assurance (“RA”) is part of the Controller’s Group with the mandate to mitigate risk to revenues through a systematic process including the identification, correction and prevention of revenue leakage across all Lines of Business. The team partners with a wide variety of stakeholders such as Product Management, Marketing, Finance, IT, Network Operations (wireless and wireline), Customer Care, vendors and external consultants.
Position Overview:
- The position of Manager, Finance – Revenue Assurance, Business Intelligence (BI) requires a strong team player to Initiate and perform data mining using a wide array of databases and a variety of application. Work with a small team within the parameters and objectives of Revenue Assurance. Develop and launch automation opportunities within the Revenue Assurance team to improve internal efficiencies (trending, monthly reporting, etc.)
Job Duties/ Accountabilities:
- Provide data subject matter expertise for the team. This includes writing the queries, performing advanced data manipulation, data analysis, and troubleshooting
- Present key findings to Project Leaders and/or Senior Management
- Mine data from various databases and data warehouse environments using various database and statistical tools and techniques (e.g. SQL, SAS)
- Provide support to Project Leaders and/or Business Unit leaders to gather requirements, improve and automate exception list creation and tracking of generated benefits
- Pro-actively search for revenue leakage within various data bases to identify new potential projects for Project Manager
- Pro-actively identify and gain access to relevant data systems in order to successfully complete projects
Critical Qualifications:
- Previous knowledge of PeopleSoft and one or more of Aliant’s Billing, Order and Provisioning systems (CSM, Infranet, Access Care, Media Room and other corporate data bases, etc.)
- Previous knowledge of SAP and one or more of Bell’s Billing, Order and Provisioning systems (NM1, EOM, CBSS, BCRIS, EDW, BW, etc.)
- Demonstrated programming skills with intermediate/advance experience with SAS and SQL
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications ( Access, Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- A proven ability to manage multiple initiatives, reset priorities, and accomplish primary objectives
- Highly motivated and focused, professional, innovative, flexible and able to work independently with minimum direction
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) to interact effectively with project teams and senior management
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
Preferable Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English and French)
- PMP or Certified Business Analyst
- Programming experience with VB and/or VBA
