Reporter / Producer – TEMPORARY; one year maternity leave replacement

CTV Two   Edmonton, Alberta

CEP Local 899. Commensurate with qualifications and experience
 

40 hours per week, varied schedule, plus overtime as required

Producing dynamic studio and field segments for CTV Two’s flagship current affairs show Alberta Primetime

  • Chase produce for interviews, packs and features
  • Contribute strong, original editorial ideas daily.  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of issues impacting the province; constantly digging up leads
  • Collaborate with Reporter/Producers on editorial direction of segments and story ideas
  • Write segment packs and scripts for hosts; co-ordinate video, audio and graphic elements
  • Juggle multiple projects and numerous tasks simultaneously, paying strict attention to detail and accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned

 

  • At least 5 years of experience in news/current affairs as a segment/feature producer and/or reporter
  • Degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary  broadcast/journalism program or related television experience
  • Strong journalistic sensibilities and integrity
  • In-depth knowledge of important local, provincial and national news stories
  • Solid background and knowledge of broadcast television and media production
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communicator and team player with positive, friendly manner

 

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
