Bell Business Markets provides a vast array of communications solutions for small, medium, and large organizations. These include managed data and network solutions, cloud computing, conferencing, Web, security solutions and integrated information and communications technology (ICT) services.

 

The Convergence Consulting Services division is looking for a Senior Network Design Specialist for its technical consulting team, with several years’ experience designing telecom networks.

 

Your accountabilities will be:

  • Direct and/or validate technological choices, and draw up overall and detailed architecture plans
  • Be accountable for technical aspects of a solution, developing complex solutions, and ensuring short-, medium- and long-term business relationships and client satisfaction
  • Keep abreast with advanced data technology used by the industry
  • Assume responsibility for technical studies, and make recommendations for products and services covering overall client IT applications and networks
  • Provide support for network products and services for the sales staff, system engineers, consultants and technicians
  • Evaluate costs and labour for telecom equipment; write/document the technical phase of client proposals
  • Interact with Product Management and Solution Development teams
  • Assume responsibility for solution development and integration with other specialized disciplines: network security, wireless network, cellular telephony, IP telephony, call centre, etc.

 

Critical qualifications and competencies:

  • Specialist in LAN/WAN and wireless products and services
  • Familiarity with equipment from Cisco, Juniper and Avaya.
  • Knowledge of standard network protocols: wiring standards, IP and Ethernet technologies, EIGRP, BGP and MPLS protocols, service quality parameters, etc.
  • Ability to design internetworking solutions and conduct lab tests
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry, more specifically in the following fields: LAN, WAN, management and outsourcing, IP telephony, cellular telephony, security/wireless technologies
  • Negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Fluently bilingual (oral and written English/French language skills)
  • Swift, efficient decision-making
  • Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Leadership ability

  • Ability to work in a constantly evolving environment
  • Interest in acquiring technical and business knowledge relating to one or many clients

 

Critical knowledge and training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Industry-recognized certification for major product manufacturers (Cisco, Avaya, Juniper, etc.)
  • Business acumen

 

Critical experience:

  • Five years of experience developing LAN/WAN and wireless solutions
  • Five years of client relations experience
  • Pertinent experience in the field of consulting services
