Our Network team plans, designs, builds and operates Bell’s multi-billion dollar networks, including the continued expansion of our fibre optic network, HSPA+ and LTE — Canada’s largest and fastest wireless network.

Within Bell, Network Security Engineering (NSE) plans and designs elements related to security. A non-exhaustive list of these nodes includes: firewalls, intrusion protection systems (both signature and behavioural based), anti-DDOS appliances and network based anti-virus scanners, events correlation.

Wireless and Wireline data undergoes sustained growth through the introduction of a litany of new terminal capabilities and features: video-streaming, virtual social networks, mobile office, pad type phones, next gen gaming (to name a few).

If you are this individual who wants to live the excitement of investigating and fixing security related network weak links, our department is the place to be. In this perspective, we seek the services of IP security agile technical staff to help us make the wireless network immune to such threats. Reporting to the Manager, NSE, the successful incumbent will occupy the position of Specialist, Network Security Engineering.

Job Duties/Accountabilities:

* Initiate and participate in security audits and risk assessments and ensure corrective action on any identified security exposures.
* Analyze threat and vulnerability levels, including the coordination and mitigation of identifies threats.
* Ensure compliance with BCE Security Policies and technical security standards, practices and procedures for data, application and technologies.
* Enforce Bell Security policies and standards within Operations.
* Investigate security events, escalate them accordingly to pre-determined procedures/management levels (internal and external)
* Interface with various internal/external departments to coordinate and manage security activity (i.e. Corporate Security, Security Administrators, policy and procedure development teams).
* Maintain leading edge knowledge of security vulnerabilities introduced by computer viruses, vendor support, internal and external attacks etc.
* Plan and size new security appliances.
* Augment existing network as per traffic growth.
* Define alarming and support tools.
* Implement deployment processes with Operations.
* Prepare work orders and project debriefing.
* Process firewall requests.
* Document network changes
* Recommend Network Security improvement.

Essential Qualifications:

* 3 to 5 years of experience in network technologies and information security.
* Advanced knowledge of IP routing and Firewalls are required.
* Understanding of advanced security protocol standards.
* Good understanding and experience in both Technical and Functional aspects of Firewall security.
* Strong Communication skills, both written and oral, including excellent documentation skills.
* Proactively assesses potential items of risk and opportunities of vulnerabilities in the network.
* Outstanding organization skills, time management skills, attention to detail.
* Energetic, independent, highly accountable, self-managed person that knows how and when to engage with the team as a whole.
* Able to posses a high degree of integrity and trust along with the ability to work independently.
* Able to communicate security-realted concepts to management.
* Technology Knowledge TCP/IP, Firewalls, routers, networks and Host IDS/IDP, Vulnerability Scanning, TACACS, VPN, SEIM, Firewall Analysis software …
* Bachelor degree in computer/electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
* 2 year relevant experience in IP security.
* IP Network experience (Backbone).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Adaptability to partially integrated software tools.

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:

* Practical wireless field experience.
* GSEC - GIAC Security Essentials Certification.
* Firewall certifications (Checkpoint and/or Juniper).
* Bilingual (English & French).
