The Bell Business Markets Atlantic Professional Services team provides consulting services to public and private sector clients across Atlantic Canada. Utilizing industry best practices and standard methodologies, our regional team of experts provides professional services to major vertical markets including government, healthcare, and human services. Our multi-disciplined team offers consulting, systems development, systems integration and application support that enables our clients to make critical decisions that drive their business goals.
Role:
We have an immediate requirement for a Senior Project Manager to join our team of professional consultants in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
As a valued member of our team, you will have accountability for the delivery of projects on behalf of our clients, leading project teams to deliver successful outcomes and solutions that meet defined requirements. You will accomplish this through the application of structured methodologies, industry best practices and superior leadership skills with an attention to detail and the engagement of project resources. Relative to our portfolio of professional services, it is expected that you will participate significantly in the pursuit of new business opportunities within current and new business markets.
Prime Responsibilities:
- Develop project charters, the project plans, and various project reports using client project management templates (or equivalent).
- Plan, organize, and control the activities of the project team.
- Proactively identify project risk and develop mitigating actions/strategies.
- Identify resource requirements and integrate new team members into the project.
- Define project assignments and review the performance of team members.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on the progress of the project team.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on project performance (budget, cost, schedule, scope, quality, risk, and issues) to project sponsors.
- Ensure that project work results are compliant with the stated requirements, priorities, and strategies of the project.
- Manage the relationship with the business/client representatives and external providers/vendors to coordinate the project activities.
- Manage the relationship with the external vendors to ensure their performance and products or services meet the contractual agreement.
- Manage the change control process.
- Manage deliverable reviews and obtain written approval for final project deliverables.
- Escalate issues, risks and problems to the identified authority when the situation so requires.
- Ensure effective stakeholder involvement through the course of projects.

- Competency with Microsoft Office and with Microsoft Project (or equivalent) project management software.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration (or equivalent) with a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional business experience in project management.
- Project Management certifications and knowledge of Agile methodologies are considered to be an asset.
