Bimcor is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bell Canada established in 1983 with responsibility for the investment management of the pension plans of the BCE group of companies. Assets under management as of December 31, 2014 were approximately $15 Billion.
The incumbent is part of the Investment Team and will be involve in private markets focusing on real assets (infrastructure and real estate) and private equity fund transactions reporting to the Vice-President – Private Markets. The private markets portfolios totaled about a $1Bn in market value. This person will review investment proposals either in a direct, co-investment or fund construct.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review investment proposals and determine their suitability
- Provide detailed financial analysis of potential investment opportunities
- Review of investment tools and processes
- Monitor current portfolio
- Ensure quality of reports and the implementation of new analytical tools
- Stay abreast of developments in private markets and focus on continued development
- Develop a network of relationships within the asset classes
- Provide assistance in the preparation of ad-hoc reports and presentations
Qualifications/Competencies:
- Graduate degree with a concentration in economics, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of four years or more of related work experience especially in private assets or fund investments
- Professional designation (CGA, CA, CFA or other) an asset
- Excellent analytical, modeling and quantitative skills
- Ability to handle multiple ongoing tasks and manage short deadlines
- Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and knowledge base as well as demonstrated intellectual curiosity in financial fields
- Mature, flexible, highly motivated professional team player with strong communication skills
