The mid and large business marketing communications team within Bell Business Markets (BBM) is seeking a dynamic and innovative online and digital marketing specialist to support the development and ongoing management of its online strategy and website.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing Communications, the Specialist, Marketing Communications Manager – Online and Digital is responsible for planning and executing a wide a range of online strategies and tactics, for the mid and large segments (serving 100+ employees) of Bell Business Markets.
Accountabilities will extend across the full spectrum of online and digital management and development – from planning, content development, website maintenance and improvements, to agency management and securing all levels of approvals.
Detailed description:
- Recommending online strategies and tactics in support of business objectives, campaigns and new product introductions – ensuring alignment with business priorities and objectives, and between online and offline programs. Involves coordinating with colleagues and other marketing managers
- Project and agency management – Managing programs end to end, including brief development, negotiating timelines and establishing detailed work-back schedules, and managing the workflow to ensure all projects are delivered on time. Also includes management of revisions, approvals, translations, and quality checks. The role involves working closely with internal marketing partners, legal counsel, brand and product management teams
- Content development – Writing and/or editing of a wide range of compelling, high-quality content. Includes managing translations and reviewing and editing French copy
- SEO and social – Working with SEO and social primes to optimize content and define/prioritize search marketing initiatives
- Online metrics and analytics – Ensuring tracking of online activities, analyzing reports for insights and future recommendations and creating executive summaries
- Lead management – Coordinating lead generation and reporting activities generated by online programs and exploring ways to continually improve lead management processes
- Issue resolution – Working with technical primes to resolve technical issues as needed
- Ensuring continuous innovation in the range and formatting of online content and programs in order to serve up engaging communications that respond to the needs and interests of target audiences.
Required skills and competencies:
- Knowledge of online B2B marketing tactics and best practices, an understanding of content management systems (CMS), website usability, online customer experience, search engine optimization (SEO), best practices in web/graphic design, and best practices in digital communications
- Professional writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts and technical information into material that is compelling, succinct, and easy to understand and appropriate for online channels. Because Bell serves customers in both official languages, you must also possess strong skills in reviewing and editing French copy.
- Excellent understanding of online usability and what makes a great customer experience
- Understanding of online metrics and platforms (Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics)
- Careful attention to detail, with high standards of excellence
- Strong planning, project management, negotiation and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and juggle the requirements of numerous stakeholders
- A strong team orientation, with the ability to work collaboratively with other internal teams and agencies
- A desire to work in a high-energy, fast paced environment within short deadlines
- Being at ease communicating with people in many different roles and levels in large organizations
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Language requirements:
English and French at a professional level (copywriting, editing, verbal)
Minimum education:
Bachelor degree in one of the following: Online marketing, Communications, Journalism, Professional writing, Public Relations or other programs with a strong emphasis on web development and management.
