The Bell Canada - Network Wireline team is looking for two Business Analysts to participate in the delivery of IT solutions for the Network Access Provisioning Department.  The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Business Process and Systems analysis and will partner with Network, IT and CGI in the delivery of key IT business initiatives.  The initial focus of this effort will be the SAP P50 system. We require highly motivated individuals, who thrive in a constantly changing and exciting environment, to apply creativity, innovation and leadership in the definition and delivery of IT solutions essential to enabling operational efficiencies.  

 

Job duties / accountabilities:

The Business Analyst, working under the direction of the Network Provisioning IT Program Manager, is responsible for;

  • Analysing and identifying underperforming or non standard business processes
  • Identifying opportunities for improved operational efficiencies through the development of new system enhancements or functionality
  • Facilitating business requirements gathering sessions, documenting the requirements and then ensuring that the deliverables produced by the IT development effort conform to the business requirements
  • Reviewing and signing off on key development and design deliverables, including System Requirement Specification, Design documentation, Test plans, deployment Plans, data schemas, as well as the business’s implementation and conversion strategies and plans
  • The role also involves driving the user acceptance testing process, including preparation of acceptance criteria, review of the test plans and scenarios, review of test results as well as taking responsibility for end to end user acceptance testing. In some cases the Business Analyst also executes test cases and directly ensures system integrity
  • In addition, the Business Analyst helps co-ordinate the project by arranging project meetings, following up on operations issues and sign-offs, producing status documentation and meeting minutes and informing team members of decisions made
  • Working with change agents in the business to deliver standardized processes and system solutions across the Business Unit
  • Contributing to the project planning and administration
  • The Business Analyst assists in developing the project charter documentation, including helping with the high-level plan, the feasibility analysis, and in developing the business case.

 

 Essential Skills / Competencies:  

  • Post secondary computer science degree with a business focus, or equivalent, and/or business degree with a computer science focus
  • 3 –5 years working experience in a Business Analyst role.
  • Working knowledge of SAP system and modules (PS, AA, PM)
  • Experience Facilitating JAD sessions
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups in the creation of end to end solutions
  • Leadership experience defining requirements and solutions
  • Absolute ability to see the business problem and business solution in the eyes of the customer
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio)
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Sound business acumen

 

Preferred Skills /Competencies:  

  • Knowledge of Network Wireline provisioning processes  
  • Familiarity with Network Provisioning systems
  • Familiarity with wireline telecommunications networks
  • Knowledge of Bell Canada’s IT processes and environment
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Familiarity with relational databases

 

 Working Conditions:  

  • Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams, handling multiple projects
  • Availability to work overtime and occasional weekends/evenings to meet project deadlines and/or to participate in deployment activities  

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
