Mission:
- With highly qualified staff and investment in developing leading edge skills, our team builds best in class networks and delivers outstanding service through provisioning , surveillance and repair.
- Support the operations technicians in order to provide methods and procedures to provision and commission the Next generation Carrier Ethernet Network and IP MPLS networks
- Support the surveillance teams in order to improve skills , drive trouble resolution and identify root causes of failures.
- Work with the various technology and level 2 technical teams to introduce next technologies , upgrade and manage existing Broadband & IP platforms
- Responsible for upgrades in the network and ensuring documentations are produced
- Provide guidance in improving network performance for Broadband and IP technologies
- Work with the various manufacturers to find root cause and to identify potential difficulties in the network.
- Provide coaching and training to various teams within operations to improve skill sets.
- Interface with Engineering teams to introduce changes into the network.
Job Duties and Accountabilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert for Broadband and IP technologies. Interface with the surveillance and provisioning technicians in order to ensure the network is performing as expected. Prime to interface with the Engineering team in introduction of new configurations within the networks.
Critical Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge/experience in TCP/IP networks including (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, QoS, Multicast, Traffic Engineering).
- Ability to present and prepare accurate documentation
- Computer literate, proficiency with office automation products/tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Technical writing skills.
- Excellent problem solving techniques and trouble analysis skills.
- Excellent time and resource management skills.
- Knowledge/experience in working in a 7/24 Network Operations environment.
- Industry certifications, such as CCIE or JNCIE would be invaluable.
- University degree in Engineering or Computer Science
Working Conditions:
- 8-5, 7/24 availability for emergencies, pager
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
