Position Description:
The position of Senior Project Manager has overall accountability for the delivery of a solution from the Pre-Sales phase through to the Close-out of projects. Project annual revenues are ranging from $10M to $100+M over the life of the contract. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the structuring and delivery of complex solutions across Bell Business Markets (BBM) account base, on time, within budget and according to customer contracted requirements. The project management plans will include a project charter, project plan, communications plan, risk management plan and an implementation schedule. Some financial and business acumen is required.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
- The Senior Project Manager will work within the Solutions Lifecycle Management process and BBM account teams in the pre-sales stage, assisting in the developing and structuring of solutions and developing detailed project management plans consistent with the proposed solution. The focus of the PM is on the do-ability, customization costs and risk of the delivery.
- Create and manage virtual post-sales delivery project teams and provide project specific direction and knowledge to Contract Delivery Services (CDS), distribution channels, and Service Assurance.
- The three critical phases of a Project are Pre-Sales, Implementation and Close-out. Pre-Sales may range anywhere from working to implement a solution from a Purchase Order or contract from the customer all the way through to contributing to a full RFI’s, RFP’s, and RFQ’s. The Senior Project Manager is accountable to manage through all these phases with appropriate Quality Management System templates, documentation, processes, based on the Project Management Book of Knowledge according to established ISO 9001 standards. Financial Tracking and Milestone Reporting is required in all phases.
- During the Implementation there is the Planning Phase and the Execution Phase. In Implementation the Senior Project Manager is completely responsible for creating & managing the team, partners, resources, equipment, etc. to deliver the solution, as well as managing and sustaining relationships with any vendors and partners integral to the project. Implementation also includes all aspects of managing a project – Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communication, Risk, Change, Project Closure, etc.
- In Close-out there are external and internal hand-offs. In Close-out they are responsible to obtain sign-offs and to provide hand-offs to the Customer and all appropriate internal organizations e.g. Service Assurance, Customer Care, Help Desk, etc. They also facilitate lessons learned sessions, summarize the output and issue a report. These sessions may be internally focused and/or involve the customer.
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
- Exposure/experience in project management
- Understanding of revenue and cost management
- Security Secret Clearance
- Bilingual would be an asset
