The Bell Residential Services team is in the business of enabling customers to connect with people, information and entertainment by delivering integrated products and service experience for consumers while enhancing our competitiveness in the marketplace. The team provides customers with Bell Home phone, local and long distance services, Bell Internet, Bell Satellite TV and amazing new technologies such as Bell Fibe TV.
The Retail Marketing Communications team is seeking a marketing communications professional with experience in retail. This is a leadership position within the Bell Residential Services Marketing Communications team – responsible for bringing the best in leading edge TV, Internet & Home phone technology.
Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing Communications, the ideal candidate has marketing communications, retail and strategy experience. In an ever-changing and competitive marketplace, they need to be flexible, have strong time management skills and be capable of balancing many projects simultaneously with short deadlines for completion. They are creative, detail oriented and strategic with the ability to communicate effectively to senior executives. This high performing individual needs to have demonstrated success with influencing and delivering results with cross functional teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leadership and management of a team of 3 direct reports (2 retail & field marketing communications specialists and 1 graphic designer)
- Work with marketing and sales to understand their objectives and build strategic communication plans & tactics to best meet those objectives
- Partner with internal and external agencies, legal and vendors to develop retail & field communications
- Oversee team to ensure communications across multiple brands within Ontario & Quebec are executed flawlessly (accurate and on time)
- Manage a large annual communications budget to ensure that revenue generating goals and retail/field targets are met
- Work with agency and marketing to track retail success and provide analysis to continually improve communication strategies
- Presentations to senior executives on communications plans
- Champion the Bell brand standards
- Other activities as necessary to support our Marketing Communications team
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
- University degree in business, marketing, communications or a related area; MBA or professional designation preferred
- At least 5 years experience in marketing communications
- Experience working in retail and/or field
- Proven experience in developing and executing communications plans
- Excellent leadership skills (from experience leading a team) and a positive work attitude
- Exceptional communications skills (written & verbal)
- Sound creative judgment
- Ability to build and foster partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Extremely detail oriented and organized
- Excellent time management skills and flexible to work overtime in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build compelling, executive-level presentations and to deliver communications plan with confidence
- Strategic and analytical thinking skills
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making at various levels of the organization
- Self-starter, with the ability to manage and drive projects with limited supervision and to manage multiple projects in an organized manner
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Writer and Microsoft Office applications – PowerPoint & Excel
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
- Deadline oriented
- Fluency in both official languages would be considered an asset
- Agency experience
