The career you want.


As the Marketing and Consumer Insights Manager the successful incumbent will be responsible for the deployment (i.e., analyses, interpretation, communication, and integration) of market and customer insights into the decision-making of key stakeholders. He/ she will also liaise with Merchandising, Category Management, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure all data, analyses, and market research are consistently interpreted.

 

Duties:

  • Collaborate with and manage relationships with key functional areas within the business, deploying market and customer insights into everyday decision making. Strong influence in bringing customer lens into decision making areas of customer communications, pricing, and promotions as well as competitive market activity (economic and consumer trends)
  • Evaluate data on existing products/services and customer segments purchase insights. Recommend offers to ensure advertising achieves targeted productivity levels. When required, challenge marketing and merchants on planned promotion offers and price.
  • Take a lead role in creating product based marketing message alignment across all channels while gaining an understanding and leveraging the differing (yet complimentary) roles each of our channel specific media tools can play in maximizing a campaign.
  • Lead post performance analysis of all product led programs with a comprehensive review and analysis of results. Compare with competitor strategies and provide recommendations on future initiatives.
  • Lead the flyer content development process which involves both marketing and merchandising. Act as final merchandising reviewer of flyer proofs to ensure product content/pricing/promo is optimized for best performance.
  • Marketing lead for all external research and internal performance analytics reports including flyer performance reporting, Brand tracking, Advertising tracking, NPD, Kubus and ad hoc projects.
  • Manage our external Distribution partner, to help define store trade areas with an emphasis on customer segments and purchase insights (at product and category level).
  • Formally train key stakeholders in the business via presentation of market research and market share, promotional results, and business cases via individual and group training sessions.
  • Primary contact with the Business Intelligence team, who are assigned accountability for building and producing internal reporting to assist with fact based decisions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
     

Skills we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of a University degree with a focus on Marketing, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or other applicable quantitative discipline.
  • 3 – 4 years’ experience in Marketing, Customer Relationships Management, Shopper Marketing with analytical methods and tools used to support business users in adopting insights into everyday decision making process.
  • The ability to understand and leverage consumer insights associated with product categories and translate this into high impact marketing activity is essential.
  • Analytical project work will require exceptional analytical skills, strong problem solving skills and the ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills with a keen eye for gaining insights from volumes of data and/or qualitative research
  • Knowledge with in-store POS, display, design and retail promotions.
  • Strong presentation (public speaking), relationship building, and management skills.
  • Proven problem solving skills with the ability to gather and assess information, formulate and evaluate alternatives and propose a recommended solution.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. With excellent written and verbal communication skills are imperative.
