Position Description:

Within the Bell Business Market's  (BBM) group, the Convergence Consulting Services division is responsible for developing and implementing customized, integrated communication solutions for corporate customers in partnership with the Sales teams. The Bell Business Markets Network Solutions team offers industry-leading network based solutions and is accountable to deliver best-in-class, repeatable network solutions for the large enterprise business market.

 

Job Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Act as the principal architect with the Sales team in analyzing customers’ business needs, identifying issues, conducting feasibility studies, and making technical recommendations. The candidate’s role is to assist customers in developing complex technological solutions and ensuring their full satisfaction, in the short, medium and long term.
  • Assume responsibility for technological directions and for the design of the overall and detailed architectural plans for datacentre, campus, branch 
  • Act as technical authority to customers with regard to datacentre, campus and branch.
  • Stay abreast of leading-edge data network technologies, and of the IT systems and applications used in the industry, preferably those applied to the finance sector.
  • Provide support for telecommunications products and services for sales staff, customer solution experts and technicians.
  • Evaluate costs and labour for networking and security appliance hardware; write/document the technical component of customer proposals
  • Communicate with the Product Management and Solution Development teams
  • Assume responsibility for solution development and integration with other specialized disciplines such as networking, network security, wireless Wi-Fi, cellular telephony, call centre, etc.
  • Promote and identify consulting opportunities and complete mandates assigned by customers.
  • Expert level data network troubleshooting in a large scale network environment.
  • Strong Technical Account management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Ten year experience in designing and deploying solutions related to Cisco data network
  • Experience in pre-sales and direct customer relations
  • Pertinent experience in the field of consulting services
  • Technical skills with regard to Cisco data networking (datacentre)
  • Advanced Routing and Switching
  • Cisco Certification: CCIE (Network) or CCIE (Data Centre)
  • Experience with datacentre switching hardware ASR, Cat 65xx and Nexus hardware
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Report Writing, Presentation skills, interpersonal skills)
  • Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, Powerpoint, Visio skills required
  • IP Telephony Basics (RTP, RTCP, H.323, SIP, etc.)
  • Experience with Running Large IP Networks (Troubleshooting skills, Best Practices, Customer Perspective, etc.)
  • Application Experience
  • DNS/DHCP /Microsoft(MCSE on 2000/2003) /Citrix(CCA, CCEA, CCIA)
  • Leadership skills
  • Team player
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment
  • Interest in acquiring technical and business knowledge relating to one or many customers.
  • General project management knowledge.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or a graduate of a specialized technical school
  • Expert Level Cisco Systems certification ( CCIE Routing & Switching or Datacentre)
  • Business acumen
