Position: Rights Clearance Coordinator, Daily Planet, Exploration Production Inc. – 10 Month Contract Position
Location:Agincourt
Salary:Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work:40 hours per week. Overtime as required.

 

Responsibilities:

• Working on a daily program and/or weekly program providing guidance with all clearance and rights management procedures.
• Manage and maintain rights management database; view materials, track and coordinate releases, stock footage agreements and log all information into rights management database.
• Provide daily / monthly clearance reports detailing cleared items, non-cleared items, estimated clearance costs and outstanding issues.
• Troubleshoot clearance questions and issues.
• Provide follow-up assistance as required on outstanding releases and/or agreements.
• Negotiate with various outside sources including legal departments and stock footage companies in order to achieve program rights requirements.
• Prepare and maintain legal binders with copies of all releases and agreements.
• Maintain digital database of all releases and agreements.
• Provide administrative support to Business Affairs as required.
• Assist with clearance assessments in order to facilitate sales / international distribution.
• Track program obligations as negotiated by business affairs (e.g., segment reviews, credit requirements, footage restrictions, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years work experience in rights/clearance management
• Working knowledge of rights management; familiarity with various types of release forms, stock footage agreements and ability to negotiate with suppliers
• Understanding of production and various types of clearance procedures
• General knowledge of technical specifications
• Demonstrated ability in a variety of computer systems such as Excel, Word, Outlook and Database management
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and decision making skills
• Ability to work individually and as part of a larger team
• Must be able to work under the pressure of constant deadlines
• Post-secondary education
