We are currently recruiting for 2 Senior Human Resources Consultants, one for the Ontario North / East and Manitoba region and one for the Quebec region. The Human Resources (HR) Consultant is responsible for providing day-to-day support and retail field support to the Senior HR Manager and Senior HR Specialist in Ontario and Manitoba. They will also provide coordination and support of key HR activities to the greater Retail HR team nationally. This role plays a critical role in supporting the national HR team to deliver the HR strategy throughout the retail channel and focuses
on operational efficiency. They will provide retail head office support as required..
Key Responsibilities:
· Executes and supports HR programs, tools and processes within the retail channel
· Assists in the development and implementation of HR programs, processes and projects;
· Provides training and coaching to our clients on HR programs and processes;
· Acts as a point person for all HR and/or employee relations inquiries in the absence of the Senior HR Manager;
· Promotes programs as part of Store visits and participation in Management meetings.
· Provide administrative support to the Retail HR team and Senior HR Manager
· Responsible for reviewing and submitting Salary and Vacancy requests for the National team for VP and Director approval.
· Assist with drafting various HR letters including, but not limited to offer letters, disciplinary letters and confirmation of employment letters for the entire retail channel;
· Responsible for compiling and submitting weekly headcount updates;
· Execute on ad-hoc requests for various reports, presentations and training programs;
· Assists with various tasks in supporting the Senior HR Manager (including retail head office support);
· Maintains and updates the retail HR team internal portal;
· Prepares communications with supporting timelines for key HR programs and initiatives, including but not limited to Mid and Annual reviews, engagement surveys, etc.
· Updates HR reference and support documents accessed by our retail channel
· Maintaining all HR communication within the retail channel, ensuring that information is always up to date and posted in the retail channel online portal.
· Partner with channel partners in ensuring all communications and policies are up to date.
· Provides counsel and coaching to the Retail field and head office clients on effective performance management programs.
· Provides Objective Performance training and coaching
· Supports performance evaluation roundtables and the equitable calibration and assessment of performance;
· Provides coaching and support on the execution of performance improvement plans and conversations;
· Provides counsel and direction on progressive discipline the retail channel store management team.
· Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· 3 - 5 years of progressive Human Resources Experience
· Knowledgeable of HR legislation and best practices;
· Post Secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or Labor Relations;
· Computer proficiency in MS Office ie. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Information Mapping Certified, SAP HR;
· Effective Presentation and Meeting facilitation skills;
· Excellent organizational and relationship management skills;
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, and plan/organize work with little supervision;
· Experience managing within a retail or multi-unit environment would be an asset;
· Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and effectively manage resources;
· Ability to problem solve and think analytically with a high attention to detail.
