The Bell Canada Process Improvement and Control group is looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager for the Fixed Asset Accounting team, located in Montreal (Quebec). The Fixed Asset Accounting team is responsible for the overall accounting process for Bell Canada and its subsidiaries’ fixed assets.
This position is ideal for an individual looking to work in a very dynamic and challenging environment and this is an excellent opportunity to learn about Bell operations and processes.
The Manager, Fixed Asset Accounting, will be responsible for many of the capital accounting processes. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Fixed Assets Accounting, they will perform a variety of tasks with the objective of:
- To monitor the quality of the asset database by setting up new queries (preventive and detective reports) and maintaining them.
- To establish new asset classes and fixed asset GL structure (AIF process).
- To update and to review the fixed assets documentation and classification of new material to ensure compliance with accounting policies and Governance (Asset Manual).
- To complete and to document monthly control procedures.
- To assist BU controller with regulatory reporting.
- To supervise one employee.
Critical qualifications / competencies would include:
- Bachelors degree (concentrating in accounting, finance or information system).
- Professional accounting designation (preferable but not a requireme
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence (SAP-BI), Plant Maintenance (SAP-PM), Material Master (SAP-MM) and Project System (SAP-PS)
- Comfortable working with large data volume..
- Extensive experience in SAP environment, ideally related to fixed assets, capital projects and supply chain processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating an ability to make complex issues and processes clear and understandable to key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Ability to effectively work with peers and internal customers.
- Capacity to take initiative and ownership of issues and tasks through to resolution.
- Able to handle multiple requests in order of priority.
- Bilingual
